How to tie a basic fishing knot

When you’re starting out, this is probably the only knot you will need for a while.  A small tip, before you pull the line tight to complete the knot, wet the part you’ve wrapped around with your saliva (wet finger) to make the knot slip better to the end of the line.

How to do a basic beach cast

This is a general purpose cast you can do if casting into the sea.  Note how in the video, the guy starts with his right arm fully extended and then pulls the rod towards him and then over his head.  As the rod goes over, pull down hard on the rod with the right arm to increase momentum, taking a step forward with the right leg as you do so.
